# Protection des loyers

Si le loyer n'est pas perçu auprès du locataire, il n'y a pas de loyer à envoyer aux détenteurs de RealTokens.

Pour couvrir ce genre de risque, il existe sur la blockchain des solutions d'assurance. Elles permettent d'être : soit assuré, soit assureur (avec dans ce dernier cas, le dépôt de fonds qui seront rémunérés).

[Opium](https://opium.network/), basé sur Ethereum, est un protocole décentralisé, hébergé via le réseau Polygon fournissant ce type de service d'assurance.

En 2021, RealT a réalisé une première expérimentation avec Opium, pour proposer ce type de service.
